i can't say i could give this five stars but i also have to admit i love this album and wouldn't change a thing about it. it's an absolutely perfect less than five stars album.
Gang Of Four - Solid Gold

bought this soon after release in a U.S. shop and have always thought I had a U.S. pressing, but oddly enough although the outer jacket has the catalog number and markings of the U.S. release, my inner sleeve and lp are both the U.K. edition with the... See full review

this pressing sounds remarkable -- wish my original copy of Discipline sounded as good as these. the range and details of the music makes me think about seeking out other EG reissues.

fantastic album and reissue sounds great but as with other DC reissues they jam a bonus track in after the closing track on the album messing up the listening experience as originally conveyed on cd. when Blue Period ends i only want to hear the... See full review

all these comments and no one points out the biggest flaw -- the lp has been resequenced by sticking two of the original tracks on the second lp with non-related bonus tracks. an absolute sin by anyone reissuing a classic album like this. otherwise,... See full review

I remember ordering them one at a time. I did get this one so obviously some of these went out — as for the website it wasn’t the best but still loved it just for its Zen characteristics.

Mavuchka replaces Messidor on this Canadian version of the LC Factory LP -- both are wonderful songs but for me Mavuchka is a must have for DC fans. It can also be found on some DC compilations.
Orb* - Cydonia
posted a review of Orb* - Cydonia. about 1 year ago
I'll never adhere to the initial baggage many fans and critics saddled on this release. Is it my favorite Orb? Not by any means but it still delivers in plentiful Orb-sustenance along the way. Total running time is a bit over 70 minutes -- 3-4 minutes... See full review

nothing more 'full circle' for me than having bought multiple albums from their original DP record store in South Omaha that they have now reissued on the DP record label. I have about a dozen of their vinyl releases and all are top of the mark... See full review
Al Green - The Belle Album

I certainly agree these mid 70s albums are his pinnacle — I prefer Full of Fire as my #1 but with all of these it’s the one foot in Heaven and one in Earth that takes them to a higher level.
Robert Glasper - Black Radio III

yes, basically it's a slipcase -- I recently got a sealed copy at Half Price Books so I wonder if they have pressed more than the 400 stated in the listing. I saw at least a couple copies in stock for $19.99 -- for that price I was happy.
Japan - Oil On Canvas

I agree with your assessment of the recording -- just has a paper thin sound (from my memory as I ditched it many years ago) -- I just couldn't justify keeping something I'd never play given the studio versions are all far superior. maybe if I'd been... See full review

All the songs here are re-recorded versions of the tracks from the tv show — still well done but always a little disappointed not hearing the exact same hooks and vocals from the show.

I have a translucent copy -- my back cover has bar code. Other IRS releases around this time period such as REM Reckoning have translucent versions as well. Not overly rare IMO.

I’ve had this purple label pressing for 40+ years — no distortion, no warp, very little surface noise...sounds excellent. wondering if there wasn’t a second run of purple label copies simultaneous to other early label variations.

Nice attempt at a commercial effort by Jack. But, of course, it's a rigged game. Songs such as Anytime and Pearl of Them All make for repeated listening pleasure -- so simple and concise.

One of the hidden gems of the 90s. Simultaneously instantly accessible pop and wired experimental playfulness. Has a little roughness around the edges but that's as it was meant to be.

I have the cd and this version sounds very comparable to me. If there is any loss on the bass I think it’s made up for in the way the music breathes coming out of the speakers — there is an expansive presence to the sound and a naturalness to it all.... See full review

I also had pops throughout on my copy — I applied the wood glue technique which often works well on new pressings like this cleaning tiny particles from the grooves that may have settled in production. Indeed listening to side one after wood gluing... See full review
