Most tracks have different running times as well. Hot Beach is from the Yen Manifold. I like both versions of the album but prefer the US version - a better album overall.

Yes the indexing of the CD is not very well done at all. It affects most of the album not just "side two". Listened to as a whole though I prefer the sound of this version.

Popmuzik is the original 12" version. It's Gonna Work Out is a clean version with no trace of "What, Me Worry?" - unique to this CD. Pate is the same version that appears on a flexi disc given away with UK copes of the Plastics "Welcome Back" album.

There's also her second album "かなしみごっこ" which is yet to appear on the database (I don't have it yet). This features Yukihiro Takahashi.

Tomita's assistant on this album was Hideki Matsutake. Haruomi Hosono liked this album so much he sought out Matsutake to work on YMO (not being aware he had already recorded with several other collaborators including Akiko Yano and Ryuichi Sakamoto). ... See full review

Philliganes is known to have introduced YMO's Behind The Mask to Michael Jackson. He worked on an album by Masayoshi Takanaka (Brasilian Skies) in '78 with Sakamoto, and backed up Minako Yoshida the same year (who sang on the debut by YMO) - so he was on ... See full review

For contractural reasons the guitar parts by Kazumi Watanabe were mixed out and replaced by synth parts played by Sakamoto. The untouched recordings were released on Faker Holic and Live At The Greek Theater in the 1990s. Superb album though which ... See full review

At the end of Nice Age Sakamoto says:
“Honto kayo? 本当かよ?”
“Baka jyan! バカじゃん!”
Translate like “Are you serious?” “Thats stupid!”

Most of these aren't instrumentals as they include backing vocals. The correct term would be "karaoke versions".
