Profile
Collector of various kinds of experimental music in all formats since the 1980s, DJing since the early 1990s (Experimental, Ambient, Techno, House). Writing on music every now and then – e.g. ZAP, Bad Alchemy Magazine, Testcard (co-founder of the latter back in those days), all based in Germany. Occasionally playing around with magnetic tape.
The label most interesting to me, for more than 20 years now (and counting): TOUCH. And then there's THE TAPEWORM – pure magnetism...
I used Discogs for years to get information on releases – it took me some time to realize that this would be the tool I was looking for for a long time, to help sorting my collection of vinyl, tapes, and CDs. So I joined. Every now and then I find time to get through a bunch of releases, adding them to my collection. And I am amazed how many releases I own, that still aren’t in the database... on the other hand, there are releases so obscure I’d bet I’d be the first to enter, and then there are 64 others who own them. Sometimes, I feel like home...
Important: Please, do not ask for trading MP3s of releases in my collection, or to rip, copy, or duplicate anything I own. As I prefer small independent labels, the least we can do to honour that work is to buy their products when they are available... Be glad that there still is the chance to miss something!
