I've become quite enamored with Music On Vinyl reissues at this point, and have been seeking them out. The MOV crew from Holland just flat-out knows what the hell they are doing as far as sound and pressing quality goes. This is one stellar example of a ... See full review

One of the greatest debut albums of all time! Two stars for the vinyl quality only. Mine has pops and skips on "Stories For Boys" and excessive surface noise on Side 2. Aside from that, the sound quality is inconsistent-- for example, "I Will Follow" is ... See full review

The specifications do not state "Remastered" but Come On Pilgrim really seems remastered. Playing through a DJ mixer (with all knobs at neutral), it sounds really bright with many "hot" sibilants, with the level indicator in the red the whole way. ... See full review

Nice compilation adding to a sea of Bowie compilations that incorporates the very latest superior remasters of his most popular favorites into one 2LP release (seems really similar to the Nothing Has Changed track list). I went to the "David Bowie Is" ... See full review

This is without a doubt the best Morrissey solo album, hands down. And this pressing is best sounding version I have heard so far. My only issue: WHY did they change the cover artwork to a different typeface? The serif font was so much better. Such a ... See full review

This record makes me want bigger speakers. Most of the time I feel like my Mackie MR824s can handle anything I throw at them, but I feel like they are missing a deeper bottom end that this record is trying to deliver. My only complaint: the packaging is ... See full review

Outstanding reissue of an alt rock classic! These two releases belong together in one set, and they got it right. The sound is a bit bright, but it is true to the source recording. Surface noise is minimal.

My copy of this is just fine, generally free of surface noise, with nice dynamics. Gripes about the sound quality are a matter of opinion... IMHO it sounds like it should sound.

Mark Kozelek's finest hour right here. First copy I bought of this had the repetitive scratchy noise on side A that others have on theirs, to the point I couldn't stand it and returned it. Second go-round, this one is a slight improvement-- the same ... See full review

Avoid this pressing. The sound is very flat and dull. It also does not include the Funeral booklet.

This is an excellent reissue of an under-appreciated gem-- the last truly great Depeche Mode album. Super low surface noise, and the sound is as good as can be expected from the source material, which I always thought was slightly muddy. Not much can be ... See full review

Classic example of an album that did not need remastering, but this perfect sounding reissue is a beautiful piece of work nonetheless.

I bought this at a shop in Italy hoping it was one of the more "official" pressings from 1993 or 1996, but alas, no. I don't know if those would be any better in sound quality. This sounds pretty good, but you have to turn it up REALLY loud (and let's ... See full review

One of the best sounding records in my collection. I replaced my original 2007 copy, which also sounded excellent, with this. I'll be using it for sound testing if I suspect my cartridge is going bad. Wide dynamics, quiet vinyl, zero distortion.

My original issue has a skip RIGHT at the beginning of "Gloria"--so the whole album is ruined of course. Should I get this remaster, or just get another OG copy? The original sounds quite good.

My copy of the 1983 pressing of Boy sounds mediocre and very thin. Have you compared this remaster with an original issue?

I have this pressing, and it mostly sounds amazing. However, for some reason "Pilgrimage" sounds slightly muffled and lacks the same dynamic quality as all the other tracks. Anyone else notice this on theirs?
posted a comment on R.E.M. - Green. about 1 month ago
Maybe the most quintessential R.E.M. album of them all. I actually prefer this original pressing over the 25th Anniversary remastered vinyl. This version just sounds right, even though it's a tad low on bass, while the remaster is kind of overwhelming.
