Japanese release year letter codes:
N = 1984
I = 1985
H = 1986
O = 1987
R = 1988
E = 1989
C = 1990
Japanese date:
https://reference.discogs.com/wiki/japanese-release-dates
The obi is what the record shop uses to shelve and sell the release by. The buyer sees this obi too when buying it and refers to the info written on it. It covers the front and the side. So whatever is written on the obi is what should be the main title and artist info (if you can read it) for a release on Discogs.
Japanize (DISCOGS を日本語に変換するサービスです)
A useful tip:
Dates of release of Japanese pressings are easy to identify. CDs are printed with a release date on the OBI strip. However, for CDs released in the 80's only a letter represents the year: N (1984), I (1985), H (1986), O (1987), R (1988), E (1989), C (1990), D (1991).

Title and Artist joiners corrected to " = " please see the new guideline on multiple languages RSG §1.8.2.b. When entering multiple languages, enter titles into the fields using an " = " between languages. Enter any main and track artist name translations in separate artist fields with " = " in the joiner, using ANVs as appropriate. For credits, please just pick one name using RSG §1.8.2.a.
