The face is blue, background is red-- there isnt any cover variant with the face red and the background blue. So "negative" and "positive" are optical illusions from the ambient light where you are looking at the cover.

Sound quality is pretty good. A lot of these rare African LPs have to be sourced from OG vinyl since the master tapes are lost or destroyed. They include two different mixes of the same album since it was released later with a different mix-- you get ... See full review

Yes, well, I remember when this was in cutout bins in the 80's, just like a lot of krautrock and rare psych LPs. So it goes.

I think the sound quality is pretty good, but sound quality on even original Lee Perry recordings is something I've heard hardcore reggae fans debate or dismiss, he was never known for "hi-fi" sound, but rather the murkiness and overuse of effects was ... See full review

For the record none of my getondown LPs that came in the deluxe PVC outer sleeves show any damage even after years. It is a known issue that solid color vinyl will get damaged by that style sleeve (while clear vinyl seems to not have the same problem), ... See full review

All these different color split vinyl versions are the same pressing-- it was a RANDOM SPLIT COLOR pressing, specifying each color combination is pointless.

Flimsy cover is annoying, but it is screen printed like the others, and actually if you dont have the original EPs then buying this set is actually a good deal, since the others average around $25 each for good copies

Minor Threat are one of only a few hardcore bands that really matter. By 1985 the genre had already become a cliche'd parody of itself, Minor Threat had broken up, and other progenitors of the style had either moved on to explore different sounds, or ... See full review

The bonus disc was put into a clear sleeve with the LP, but without a paper inner sleeve, so the vinyl pressed up against the clear plastic sleeve and got "etched" on one side-- discolored from a chemical reaction between the vinyl and the plastic ... See full review

The quality control problem here is actually with United Record Pressing in Nashville. They handle most of the major label reissues, including something nominally done by a smaller label. URP is legendary for mixing up A/B stampers, putting only one LP ... See full review

The number of legendary musicians who came through Miles Davis' band is staggering. While many went on to great careers post-Miles, very few ever out-shined him. Coltrane is the obvious exception, and Herbie is at least Miles' equal in terms of sheer ... See full review

The term "Xian" I first saw back in the 90's when rare LP dealers sent around photocopied catalogs of their finds, there was a lot of shorthand code to save space "PP" for "promo punch" (hole in the corner) or "RW" for "ring wear", "Xian" is shorthand ... See full review

Have this with a different cover. Obviously lots of different LP covers for this release, so not surprising that the promo/press copies would have different covers too.

This is not really a typical Sun Ra LP. For jazz purists the Delmark LPs (Sun Song), or some of the other 60's records like Angels & Demons at play are more jazz oriented post-bop stuff.

So call the police. Considering that a lot of these tracks are now owned by major labels, I'm sure they'd love to put the well known and well regarded Mississippi Records (FYI that's who manufactures it) out of business.
