typically mid 80's in sound and if you are a fan of the mid 80's prince era then this Album is for you. One exception is Curious which was a huge hit on the underground soul circuit in London.

I don't get it, how is this LP so revered? Seeekret that came out a year late in 85 is a much better LP both produced by Deodato.

Masters At Work - Blood Vibes

A classic masters at work production, house and hip hop on 1 Album. Not sure if this was ever done before? DJ Mark the 45 king did something similar on Tuff City but that was after..

Had this on tape for almost 30 years and had no clue what it was, all i remember was that i recorded it from a UK pirate radio station at the time. I knew it was or it sounded like a british jazz-funk record but that was it. Unbelievably i found this... See full review

when this first came out i remember it was a big club track especially in London but it was purely for the Soul Headz, only in later years has it become more and more popular. I think it's still a massive club track and deserves a listen.
Masters At Work - Mattel

Not what your classic MAW Fans would have wanted as a comeback after 20 odd years however, making electronic music and exposing themselves to a younger audience is nothing new to Kenny & Louie, that said, this is a new era and we have all been warned,... See full review
Roy Ayers - Feeling Good

The irony is that he left IMO his best album for Polydor until the end, I just don't understand why later albums go for silly money, when this Album is far better than the Uno Melodic albums.
Larry Joseph - Platinum Funk Vol.1
posted a review of Larry Joseph - Platinum Funk Vol.1. over 4 years ago
Bought this first time out in London and it was limited then, strange EP really, it's not funk, it's not soul but it's something in between. Typical of what was going on in the mid 80's soul/boogie scene.

Diana Ross - If You're Not Gonna Love Me Right

Funny you should say that, this was sold to me back in the 90's as a MAW unreleased mixes. I always thought it sounded like a smack production but back then we didn't have the resources we have now.

The owner of Sam Records always get's it right with these re-issues. An excellent addition to anyone's collection.
If only he would introduce the original Sam Records sleeves, it would make them even more desirable!!
