Bought it for the cover and because she’s born in Brussels and because it’s her only album but it’s clear when you listen to it why it is indeed her only album. Very clear. I’m almost hearing the musicians cringing.

One of the best sounding records in my collection. The songs are not always that fancy but check A3, I’m not a fan of that kind of cover, but this one sounds just like you are there.

Finally playing it. I’m not comparing side-by-side but the first thing that struck me was the bass and bass drum being more prominent, i.e. I’m remarking them more than before.

It amazes me how Grian Chatten, along with Fontaines DC’s production and their long tours, found the time to write and record such a quality solo album. There’s maybe only one or two lesser songs on this one. Absolutely great album.

A unique artist, a marvellous album, especially the lyrics but also very much the music. And her venture in clothes and her lovely book make clear that she’s an artist in the broadest meaning of that word. Haven’t seen it all from her.

Marvellous record. Right down my alley. Has somewhat GoGo Penguin atmosphere, but all in all quite different. Great sounding pressing with one personal remark is that the bass drum sounds a bit too prominent at times.

I know that this could be considered somewhat an Albarn album but I have so much feels for this album. It shows the genius of the band, it has so much good songs. Such various vibes. For me this is in my top 10 of best albums ever.

Love this album. When songs passed through a shuffle they always caught my attention. Finally bought it. Should have done so earlier.

Cleaned it yet starts off with many crackles. Pressing bought directly from Rough Trade. A lot of bass, which is fine for me, but in the opening song (What. A. Song.) it pushes vocals to the side a bit. Nitpicking. Still a must have.

The novelty has worn off a bit. But this is still a very strong album. If you can appreciate subtlety, a kind of groovy minimalism. There’s only a couple of minor songs on this one. It’s besides my comments a no brainier.

I like this album very much. It has a very broad palette of vibes.

Buy this record for “Mary's Goodbye Blues” alone. The only song on this album which she wrote herself. It’s obviously very bluesy. But what a song. Love the vibe, delivery,… Or just stream it before you buy it if you want to be sure.

The French singing is slightly cringe if you are French speaking yourself, but I’ve heard much worse that her (I just can’t unhear “salami” instead of “seul ami” though). You got to get used to her girlish voice, but this is a great album all in all....

Is the world record of Playing a Guitar Really Fast broken in this album? Amazing recording. Very dynamic also. Just one song seems a bit less interesting. Not for the faint of heart though. It is pretty hectic.

This is an amazing sounding record. Detailed and smooth, very spacious. Not overly enthusiastic about the vocals (tend to have an early Metal vibe sometimes), but don’t let that keep you from trying it out.
