I don’t know where I got this from, I’m guessing some IG post. I also don’t really know if this is a compilation or a specific recording (there seems to be no other version here, for now) but this is really good and sounds really good. Just genuine... See full review

This is an absolutely amazing album. Maybe not each and every song but for the last days I’ve been listening to it at least once a day. Stunning.

Label of B-side says 33 but that’s wrong, it’s 45 like the A-side.

This is a pretty good album. I’m not always that fond of Murphy’s vocals but on the B-side He does contain himself much better. Top album this.

Bought it for the cover and because she’s born in Brussels and because it’s her only album but it’s clear when you listen to it why it is indeed her only album. Very clear. I’m almost hearing the musicians cringing.

French speaking people, just like I am, will be unable not to hear « poulailler » when listening to Tienaté. Top song though. 👌
Tommy Schneider & Friends - Plan B3

One of the best sounding records in my collection. The songs are not always that fancy but check A3, I’m not a fan of that kind of cover, but this one sounds just like you are there.

Eddie Chacon - Sundown

Ah, the combination of his voice and way of singing with that kind of music and production. The overall vibe, sound, rhythm, atmosphere.

Finally playing it. I’m not comparing side-by-side but the first thing that struck me was the bass and bass drum being more prominent, i.e. I’m remarking them more than before.
The Breeders - Pod

This remains an epic album. I adored and still adore the minimalism, rawness, purity. I played it over and over again back then and still enjoy it today. Their version of Happiness Is A Warm Gun, I still kinda consider that better than the original,... See full review

Put this one on during a warm or even sultry summer evening preferably with some crickets as additional background noise and you’ll imagine yourself in the south of France, wherever you in fact really are.
Grian Chatten - Chaos For The Fly
posted a review of Grian Chatten - Chaos For The Fly. about 1 year ago
It amazes me how Grian Chatten, along with Fontaines DC’s production and their long tours, found the time to write and record such a quality solo album. There’s maybe only one or two lesser songs on this one. Absolutely great album.

Little Simz - No Thank You

A unique artist, a marvellous album, especially the lyrics but also very much the music. And her venture in clothes and her lovely book make clear that she’s an artist in the broadest meaning of that word. Haven’t seen it all from her.

Mammal Hands - Gift From The Trees

Marvellous record. Right down my alley. Has somewhat GoGo Penguin atmosphere, but all in all quite different. Great sounding pressing with one personal remark is that the bass drum sounds a bit too prominent at times.
Blur - 13

I know that this could be considered somewhat an Albarn album but I have so much feels for this album. It shows the genius of the band, it has so much good songs. Such various vibes. For me this is in my top 10 of best albums ever.

The Kenny Burrell Quartet - The Tender Gender

Cover makes it look like a compilation. I do love this album. It’s a bit classic, not much chin stroking to be done when listening to this one. But it sounds great and is really perfect for an easy jazzy evening session.

Sounds like someone stood at the back with a microphone to record the concert from the sound guy’s headphones. Very disappointed actually.
Les Deux Fils De Pute - Allez Tous Vous Faire Mettre

Underrated Belgian HipHop. No frills, just pure fatness. A track like "Allez Tous Vous Faire Mettre", you can't make it better than that.
Fabiano Do Nascimento* - Ykytu

Lankum - False Lankum

Cleaned it yet starts off with many crackles. Pressing bought directly from Rough Trade. A lot of bass, which is fine for me, but in the opening song (What. A. Song.) it pushes vocals to the side a bit. Nitpicking. Still a must have.
Eddie Chacon - Sundown
posted a review of Eddie Chacon - Sundown. about 1 year ago
The novelty has worn off a bit. But this is still a very strong album. If you can appreciate subtlety, a kind of groovy minimalism. There’s only a couple of minor songs on this one. It’s besides my comments a no brainier.
Buy it.

Alleen al voor “Balzaal Der Gebroken Harten” is dit de moeite. En beseffen dat dit in 1989 werd uitgebracht, met deze teksten. Gewaagd. Vandaag zeker. Top album.

Viva Boma is better than this album, in my humble opinion. This one's got too many weird passages.
Nico (3) - The Marble Index

There is the slightest of variation compared to this one, and it m’s best noticed on the labels, i.e. the position of the tiny white Warner logo compared to the “Made in Belgium” https://www.discogs.com/release/3647147-Nico-The-Marble-Index

Buy this record for “Mary's Goodbye Blues” alone. The only song on this album which she wrote herself. It’s obviously very bluesy. But what a song. Love the vibe, delivery,… Or just stream it before you buy it if you want to be sure.

The French singing is slightly cringe if you are French speaking yourself, but I’ve heard much worse that her (I just can’t unhear “salami” instead of “seul ami” though). You got to get used to her girlish voice, but this is a great album all in all.... See full review

Is the world record of Playing a Guitar Really Fast broken in this album? Amazing recording. Very dynamic also. Just one song seems a bit less interesting. Not for the faint of heart though. It is pretty hectic.

This is an amazing sounding record. Detailed and smooth, very spacious. Not overly enthusiastic about the vocals (tend to have an early Metal vibe sometimes), but don’t let that keep you from trying it out.
