DH Like A Doghead samples the intro of The Haxan Cloak's "Excavation"... or at least it "sounds" like it.

A great album nonetheless. Versatile, unique and beautiful at the same time being horrifying and ethereal. What else could you expect from this... See full review

I agree as well... bla bla bla (insert pretentiously irate review here) bla bla bla... and so-fucking-forth.

The first and self-titled track is possibly one of the most personal, emotionally complex, riveting and powerful tracks I have heard in some years. I can't really describe on what exactly goes on in this piece, but I'd prefer to keep it that way from... See full review

Absolutely essential isolationist music, from start to finish. Highly recommended for fans of Lull, Thomas Koner, Francisco Lopez, Zoviet France etc...

Please get out of retirement, Mick. We miss your ingenious isolationist soundscapes. You have made some of the finest atmospheres I have heard from any Dark Ambient artist or Ambient in general.

It's good to see someone here that are giving Namlook some recognition and not just Geir Jenssen.

I can see it being on par with some of HDG, but most certainly no where close to Hoedh and especially Troum's best efforts.

Probably his 'Air' and 'Silence' projects would be the best place to start listening and also his collab projects 'Dreamfish', '2350 Broadway' and 'The Fires of Ork'. Any album from those would be a great place to start delving more into his catalog. :)

If you want something more dark and deep, check works by Lull or Yen Pox.

Easily the best Japanese Power Electronics and Death Industrial Project out there. You can hear elements of folk music, experimental ambient and traditional organ music as well, that is often melded together with the noise and industrial contents. The... See full review

This Morn' Omina are a very special group and most certainly a force to be reckoned with; Here you have a mixture of Dark Ambient, Rhythmic Noise, Techno, Psy-trance, Tribal, Experimental and Industrial merging into a very unique entity of sound that... See full review

I honestly wasn't too fond of Lunch's version compared to Gira's, his seemed to dive deeper into more visceral and detailed depths. To each their own though.

Some people just can't appreciate the unique charm that Project Pitchfork beholds, a charm that most other bands of the genre do not possess.

The godfathers of otherworldly and quixotic ambient.

Fantastic review, as always. This album, in my opinion, overshadows anything by Lustmord. It is possibly one of the most bleakest and most brooding Dark Ambient albums ever made.
