Aside from the unfortunate cutting of the intro to A1, this is a masterful repressing. So happy to have a copy of this that sounds this good. Looking forward to hearing the Remaster of Eostre as well.

Quintessential dark ambient record, probably one of the most sinister 80's industrial releases.

For me it's their best along with Eostre , two fine double albums of excellent experimental music.

In my not so humble opinion, this spectacular release is ZOVIET FRANCE's best, each song totaly authentic and powerful, each song a genre itself. 32 years later and noone (not even grand COIL) managed to ever release sth like this. This the pool of industrial possibilities, search no further.

Nice record. Hard to believe that promo copies were sent out (of the 2nd press) but I distinctly remember receiving one (which I still possess) in the mid 80s sometime (86/87?) Don't know if that fits in with the timeline.
Misfits... was also promo'd around 1986 as well. Seems a strange sort of thing to send out to radio stations.... but that was the old days.... weren't they great?

Nearly 30 years since I bought this! Original masonite covered version. I just converted the vinyl to MP3 and listened again with fresh ears. Still remains the mysterious entity it always was. One of ZF's most satisfying releases and I have quite a few (in original and wondrous) artwork sleeves. As I slowly convert each of their recordings for portable listening I realise what a unique force they really were. Even inspired me to try my own hand at 'sound sculpting', with a little less success than they. Mohnomishe is quintessential ZF, the primitive, other-wordly, electronic and subsonic pulses. Like no-one else before or since. A joy. My heart quickens.
