very impressive even with very light surface noise. Probably as good as it could get considering the fidelity and age of the original sources. About to get a vinyl copy of A Boy From Tupelo-The Sun Masters and then compare them for sound quality. So yes, I got the A Boy From Tupelo vinyl and I noticed that Tupelo has a more pronounced sound and emphasis on the instruments compared to At Sun. This doesn't distract from Elvis' vocals, but it seems like the strings and bass have a bit more clarity and sharpness and presence on ABFT.

Was the LP made from analog masters? And what's your source?

If you haven't got the necessary pocket money for the original Sun 45s but want to hear these essential first Elvis recordings on vinyl then you should get a copy of this release.
The sound quality is substantially improved in comparison to the 70s RCA LP "The Sun Collection" but also to the 1999 "Sunrise" double-CD.
It's hard to fully appreciate from today's point of view the impact that these recordings had in the mid-50s in the American South. The great music writer Nick Tosches calls them "earth-shaking", and even if you listen to them today for the umpteenth time they haven't lost any of their raw energy and their mystery.
