- American version has like an entire middle portion axed from both discs?!?! Never noticed before until looking at the tracklinstings on here, but obvious. UK compact discs allow for like an extra 15minutes for tea breaks er sumfing? ;) Was this a decision, or a giant fuck up? I feel like part of my drum n bass foundation as a stateside junglist has been chewed through, leaving me on shaky ground n vulnerable like showing up at a new job with half an asscheek and a knee missing from my pants.
And his mixing sucks and I don't know how someone would attach their name to a pre-recorded mix boasting THIS IS ARE THE SOUNDSSSS OMG SO INCREDIBLE OF DRUM N BASS INCORPORATED THEE WITH THE LONG EEEE with an ego like Drumald Chump, but the vibe is propa and the tunes..."SO SO Great I made all these tunes for my own label...you know it I know you know it...say it....met. al. headz. and by me I mean Rob Playford but really just me and no rob playford who's rob playford I don't know why'd you bring him up? I think you'll find It's a HUGE huge label, really the best, i think Bjorklania would agree (hypothetical Bjork/Milania Trump hybrid rolls her eyes and steps further into the...moving....shadows :snorklesnorkle) Did you know I created the world's first drum? It was...INCREDIBLE...see what I did there? Now go buy at least 2 copies of the CD, because i must admit...(inhale-sizzle and head cock)...Giles Peterson? Could learn a bit about music from me, and the disc jockeying and the vinyls. I offered to lend him my drum and you know what he said he said 'Donoldie, I could never compete with you and Metalheadz' so I think he tried to destroy me by cutting the middle of the mix for all you Americans"
aaaand :end scene: (you'll never get those 2 minutes back; they were scrumptious) referencing INCredible Sound Of Drum'N'Bass Mixed By Goldie (3×LP, Compilation, Limited Edition, Numbered) INC6LP
Album full of bangers for nowt, what a bloomin' find!!referencing INCredible Sound Of Drum'n'Bass Mixed By Goldie (2×CD, Mixed, Unofficial Release) DR-99282
This is a pirate truncated version of the disk. It's got some of the tracks right in the middle of the mix chopped out and chucked away. However, as at the time pirates were the only way to get the music this was one of my favourites.- I really don't know anything about good mixing, but even I noticed right away there was something wrong in the way it sounded all clumsy and off. At the time I just assumed that it was done this way on purpose, I thought that maybe it was a thing. But after reading so many of these comments about how bad his mixing was, I realize that I was right the first time. But it doesn't matter to me anyway because this is one of my favorite albums ever. And for one reason; it has the greatest selection of drum and bass tracks ever assembled on one single album. Of course this was the Golden Age of drum and bass, so it wasn't that difficult to find so many great tracks I suppose. But even now when I listen to it I get flabbergasted by how many great ones are on it.
- Edited 9 years agoNot credited in the tracklisting after Digital - Special Mission (listed as Far Out) is Krust - True Stories
Also not credited on track 1-14 is Photek - Knitevision - Edited 9 years agoAs I've got older I've lost my appetite and appreciation for tunes from the dark side. I did spend a lot of time at Jungle events during the 90's, but I find it all a bit boring nowadays. That said, I remember that when this came out I liked it for two reasons. Number one being that It's a good selection from the hey day of Jungle, and number two being that there's no MCs. It's far from the best mixing, granted, but I can forgive that because the selection is fairly tough. Personally I would have liked to have been able to get an unmixed copy so I could add the odd tune to a play list rather than having to play the lot. It's not that there are any weak tunes, it's just that it all gets a bit monotonous after while and I crave for something a little lighter, with a little more melody.
- Edited 9 years agoI have to question the labeling on this one.
Not the information displayed on this page but the actual labeling itself.
Optical To Shape The Future (Reckless Mission Dub) is supposed to be the original track. No remix.
And Digital - Far out is supposed to be Digital - Special Mission.
Please concur. - Edited 13 years agoThis compilation has some great old school d'n'b tracks, the problem is Goldie can't really mix that well. He may be the 'godfather of drum n bass', But as a dj I can hear almost all tracks are off beat when the tracks are mixed together. Seems like he struggles to get the beats on cue. Overall it's a great showcase but sloppy mixing. Still, Goldie is a great producer. Favorite track: Doc Scott - unofficial ghost.
