Notes
Album Sales: 7,000,000
First Release Date: September 1991
The fourth studio album from Guns N' Roses. It was the second of two albums released in conjunction with the "Use Your Illusion Tour", the other being "Use Your Illusion I". In fact, in the original vinyl releases, both Use Your Illusion albums are double albums. Material for all two/four discs (depending on the medium) was recorded at the same time and there was some question of releasing a "quadruple album".
"Use Your Illusion II" reached #1 in the Billboard Top 200 and the UK Albums Chart. The album produced five singles:
"You Could Be Mine"
"Knockin' On Heaven's Door"
"Yesterdays"
"Civil War"
"Estranged"

- Bought for 14€90 years each , during the Christmas Offers . Sounds super clean !!
30€ for the 1 & 2 new and sealed , great deal . Great pressing !
- This German pressing from 1991 is killer sounding. The sound is very fresh, punchy, transparent, airy and crispy.
- This reissue is a masterpiece, it was very well engineered, it sounds fantastic!. Completely flat discs, amazingly quiet, there's no surface noise at all!. Crisp sound!
Its presentation is okay, gatefold sleeve is correct, nothing remarkable. - Edited 8 months agoWell... I won't rate this one because it's a very personal opinion... Dead silent pressing. Not sounding bad. But reading the many positive ratings not only here but also elsewhere, question marks remain in my head...
I like the sound of the piano and of the accoustic guitars featured. But it ain't the first time I experience Ted Jensen's mastering as sterile, clinical, somehow flat and liveless. The treble is just way too harsh to my ears, especially during multiple voices' choruses. I put on an LP and experience the sound of an early 1990's mp3... Maybe I am too mean, but that's my personal view, cannot do anything about it. Been looking forward to this and its twin, but I feel a bit of a letdown, think I should have bought a Dylan or Muddy Waters instead...
Asking for forgiveness. And yes, listening to it after 30 years after my youth: cockneyuk, your Lady has a point, eh? Sometimes I wish Izzy would have voiced the next track... 😂
Hoping this one still grows on me, loved it so much in 1991, aged 14. - Given the original analogue tapes went up in the Universal fire in 2008, this will be is good as it ever gets for us. And it’s a fantastic pressing at that, tip of the hat to Optimal for a job well done. Ignore the haters and enjoy!!

IMO the most musical pressing of this record that I’ve heard. By some distance, too. Much more so than the European Sonopress release that I also own. The Sonopress is more impressive soundwise, but this is sooo fun and grooving! Same goes for the Portuguese pressing of UYI 1. Highly recommended.
