These 2 new versions of Let's get hot and Let's get cool (video version London live 2009) are the result of the original track Cool in the Pool recorded in my home lab in Cologne 1979.
Sometimes absurdity can become the mother of invention. When I was working on the music of Cool in the Pool it finally became necessary to search also for a lyric.
While I was sitting down on a sofa in my studio I was opening the middle pages of a photo magazine where a huge headline met my eyes saying This Nonsense has Method. This became my first line of Cool in the Pool which I put in the middle of the song.
While the instrumental track kept running in a loop my fantasy let me dream becoming a dancing element sweating in the disco. In my dream I recorded 4 radio stations on 4 tracks without treating them as samples.
One radio station was an early morning radio station which was cheering people up who had to get ready for work.
Another one was a typical late night pop station which fitted in perfectly like a played instrument and the third one must have been coming from somewhere in Russia.
To my surprise they all seemed to have appeared at the right time and the right place.
There is no doubt about it!
So, let's get hot and let's get cool together.
