Reviews
- Loving it, sounds rich, detailed and generous, fills the room with wide spaces and nice punch in low ends, crispness in higher details too. My first Jaga record I ever bought on CD back in the early 2000s, it incorporates rich, dusty electronic postproduction, so it's great to listen to it on vinyl now. It's visually beautiful, too, with the transparent colours. It's an amazing ride and thoroughly recommended.
- Edited 6 months agoOof, just put mine on and horrendous non-fill / crunching noises throughout side A. What a shame :( - EDIT - Ninja Tune are very kindly sending me a replacement -top guys!
- Great mix/master and quite a decent pressing. Not without defects, but they get lost in the music and don’t bother you much.

Once you settle into the structure of the compositions, once patterns start to emerge, the album becomes a treasure trove of timeless beauty. Ancient and young at the same time. Beautiful, potent, textured, with flourishes and motifs, the joy of creating music is deeply felt. It twists and turns, full of vibrancy, life and colour. There's mystery, there's wonder, there's drama. And lots of unbound musicality.- Edited 19 years ago

Jaga Jazzist, with their second album THE STIX, continue their weirdo jazz takeover of the world. While it shares the same instrumentation as the first album (including those wonderful horns, they continue exploring a range of emotions. "Kitty Wu," for example meanders in a dreamy soundscape. "Another Day" goes kind of crazy with the electric guitar, but it works. "Reminders" has with a horn section that sticks to your ribs like cholesterol; the rhythm helps get you moving to clear up the congestion. Another amazing album. Jazz keeps getting better and better.
