"I Like Giants" was inspired by a nice talk with Genevieve Elverum about one of her songs. "The Competition" was originally written for Esopus Magazine #4 Imaginary Friends compilation, loosely based on a story by Mia Gomez. The melody and the last verse of "France" are from the song "Sheer Wonder" by David-Ivar Herman Düne and the song is mostly about what a good friend, musician, and dancer he is. "12/26": Me and M.J. talked a lot about feeling helpless after the tsunami and decided to write a song about how we felt.
