- Both tracks are awesome, but New York is the winner for me. It's cheap, just buy it. If later 90's dark dnb comes in like 93-94hardcore / jungle, this would be a 45 pound tune 😁

This is a very interesting record in the tech step genre. Serum has a crusty vibe that is atmospheric and pretty deep for a "banger", feels like a werewolf hunting on a full moon night. This tune has fire and nasty going on, but is full of subtleties. Definitely has that 97/98 Optical's studio sound embedded into its dna, which is a great thing to me. I would dare a guess and say that if this tune were to come out now as a resurrected "lost dub", vintage dnb fans would be lunging for this.
NY is a slightly awkward tune no doubt, but its got charms and unique flavor to it... i feel like its almost brazen minimal, dry techstep aspects make it off limits to some, but i like the dj tool element to this cut. Leaves it wide open to mix something in with lots more going on rhythmically and textural wise.
