referencing Winds Of Space (CD, Album) HOMCD 7001
The Sage and Soft Light two ethereal, dreamy analog synth drenched compositions is by far what makes this a standout old school new age/ambient album. There's a definitive nod to Kitaro on the opener track as well as deeper cuts but the music is well composed not of the Teutonic variety and there's a ton of beautiful lush string and vocoder synth on the cd. The music is augmented by flute and sax but in no way is/was he trying to make a electronic jazz album this is still purely cosmic in atmosphere. I would say so far as this being the best composed album of Davison's early catalog. I really think aside from Private Music Higher Octave at least early on released some superb new age/ambient electronic music esp. the William Aura catalog. A shame how the music landscape has really taken a plunge into the abyss and no longer promotes positive/creative music such as this via radio etc. Dig deeper folks theres a lot of great music waiting for your hungry ears!
