Recently received this absolutely NM copy... and what a treat!

First thing I noticed was the loud mix... much louder than the record I had just played. I thought I blew my hearing out for a moment... turned that volume way down.

This is brutal Swans! I first heard these tracks from the 1990s CD reissue comps YGR put out. They remind me of live performances of The Seer (middle section) when the band wallows in slow pummeling fuzzed-out feedback-laden barrages, only MG was more angry back then. Ha!

This version sounded better than some newer records out there and really gave my vintage speakers a run for their money.

Definitely worth the price, as I predict no reissue in the near future. Buy one!

This was NOT known as YOUNG GOD ep when it came out. Check out the test pressing listing above for proof. This was known as RAPING A SLAVE. That is dark - of course - and what one would expect given Gira's preoccupations at this point [he lived in NYC at this juncture]
Why change it? Do not rewrite history etc and so on

Swans most brutal product... The bashing of drums, the metallic bass, the droning guitar noise, the moaning, rhythmically piercing force of Michael Giras Voice, the lyrics, without any compromise. If you like the early Swans, this one is a highlight. If you look for melodic swans, meditative humming, you cannot be more wrong with this one.
