This set is so so excellent.. Rouse and Gordon are on fire. Kick ass live record all the way thru ✨referencing At The Blackhawk (LP, Album, Mono) 12-323
I’m rather mystified by the fact that no one seems to know the release date of the Uk versions of this LP, original of which must be either this or {r8611490}. In time for 1961 tour I would have thoughtreferencing At The Blackhawk (LP, Album, Mono) RLP 12-323
The original sleeve has a typesetting error near the top. Just after the recording date and location ("The Blackhawk, San Francisco; April 29, 1960.") some of this passage ("ancisco; April 29, 1960.") is repeated. The error is typically uncorrected on subsequent vinyl reissues and appears without fail over the years, with the only exceptions I think being the 1987 OJCs.referencing At The Blackhawk (LP, Album, Stereo) RLP 1171
I have this disc with a mono “made in England by the Haycock press
Ltd.”sleeve- These OJCs sound so good. I've had a bunch and can't remember a bad one. This record really swings. All the musicians are in great form. Highly recommended for anyone that loves great music, jazz, and Monk!

question -- cannot recall if a first pressing always implies the deep groove or not when it comes to Riverside releases? I recall some people saying that as long as the inc is not on the label it constitues a first press. please help!
