Reviews
- Edited one year agoAn absolute masterpiece. Tuck Andress is as much an innovator at jazz guitar as George Van Eps, Wes, or Joe Pass, period. Here is a collection of beautifully arranged fingerstyle solo guitar pieces, some standards and some originals, gorgeously recorded in speaker thumping full range.
Obvious highlights are "Man In The Mirror" and "Over The Rainbow"/"If I Only Had A Brain". However, stick around for the beguiling "Begin The Beguine", as well as a mind-bending suite of original compositions, 'Grooves Of Joy".
Tuck is very much a perfectionist, and the entire recording reeks of technical perfection. His delicate touch and lyrical treatment of melody is stunning. At times you will swear you are hearing two or three guitars.
The recording is spectacular. - Excellent sound quality, wonderful interpretation, excellent guitar playing & fantastic guitar tone! A great pity that he has so few solo albums.
