Dom Smutsiga Hundarna

Dom Smutsiga Hundarna

Profile:

Swedish rock band from Gothenburg that belonged to the prog movement.

The band was formed in 1969 by Ingemar E. Nilsson and Ingmar "Tomten" Flurén and participated in the first music party at Gärdet in Stockholm in 1970, when the band was complemented by members from Träd, Gräs och Stenar. Nilsson left the band already in the autumn of the same year, but continued as a songwriter. The band continued to appear in various contexts, but came to be characterized by a series of membership changes.

When the band released their first album in 1977, they had found a constellation consisting of Gunnar Ekström (actually Bert Gren, keyboards), Ingmar "Tomten" Flurén (vocals, percussion, harmonica), Jaak Talvend (vocals, guitar), Jan Svensson ( bass) and Tommy Lahger (drums), which also came to exist on the other (1979). Bert Gren, who was then a music journalist at Göteborgs-Posten, is the son of the football legend Gunnar Gren, who on the band's second album himself also participated as a guest artist on mandolin. Their music on the second album was partly influenced by punk rock.

After that, new transformations took place and before the recording of the third album, the band consisted of Bebe Risenfors (scissors, guitar, vocals, percussion), Ingmar Flurén (vocals), Jan Svensson (bass), Jonas Wicktor (drums, percussion), Lena Klarström (vocals ) and Magnus Haglund (vocals, guitar, piano and harmonium). The band disbanded shortly after the release of their third album in 1983.

The Dirty Dogs have only been reunited as a band a few times - and then always in the constellation that made the two 70's albums.
