Profile: | Jamaican reggae musician and vocalist, born December 1944 in Port Maria, St Parish, Jamaica. In the 60s he learned to play piano, drums, guitar and trumpet and started as a concert organizer (with Inner Circle). From 1971 to 1978 member of Ras Michael & The Sons Of Negus, playing funde drum. Starting recording in 1972 at Joe Gibb's studio & Harry J, Kiddus I ran his own "Shepard" label, recording a few songs at Lee Perry's Black Ark studio. Famous for his appearance in the film "Rockers" (1978), where he performed his song "Graduation in Zion" in Jack Ruby studio (the song was recorded two years before the release of the film and was never pressed !) and re-record some song at Tuff Gong studio in 1979. He recorded about ten songs in the 70's but they were never pressed !
