DJ Waxfiend

Dutch-Surinamese hip-hop/reggae/dancehall DJ, born 1983 in Diemen, North-Holland, the Netherlands.

Based in Amsterdam, North-Holland, the Netherlands, Waxfiend is one of the top hip-hop/dancehall DJ's in the country, having had residencies in some of the top clubs such as Paradiso, Off Corso, Bozzini, and Jimmy Woo. As the founder of Jamrock, the top reggae/dancehall night in the Netherlands.

Waxfiend started his career in 2000 and has since performed at various clubs and festivals in Germany, Belgium, Spain, the UK, Sweden as well as Caribbean countries such as Sint Maarten, Aruba, and Suriname.

Waxfiend has been nominated for several awards including the dutch MOBO-Award, and the Urban Awards by BNN. In 2006 Jamrock won the PP2G Award (Holland's biggest urban online community) for 'Best party of 2006' and in 2007 Waxfiend & Kempi were rewarded with a Gouden Greep Award for 'Best Mixtape'. In 2009, Waxfiend joined the cast of DJ Whoo Kid's Shadyville DJ's as part of the Shadyville Caribbean division.
