When skinhead cult emerged in the city of Alor Star, these boys really loved the oi! Sound. Already fairly talented musicians, the boys decided to form a band. They started practicing all the while trying to come up with a name for their band.

It was the bassist Mat Kie and drummer Botak Azim, who eventually came up with name and after squaring it with the rest of the guys, the band became Offside.

Their influence's are also other oi! bands such like Sham 69, Oxymoron, The Business, Last Resort, The Blitz, Oppressed, Cock Sparrer as well as local bands like A.C.A.B, Roots ‘N’ Boots, The Official and many more.

They started playing alot of gigs around Alor Star and then got the chance to perform at a gig in Ipoh, their first gig outside from Kedah. They travelled to the gig, by bus, with 44 members of the Alor Star skinheads crew. The gig was a great success and allowed the boys to spread the bands name.

After that gig, the band took time off in order to finish their studies. But the boy's were soon back in action, when they were asked to contribute some tracks to a compilation album (Wait Semenet a.k.a Lust Minute Compilation) produced by Stuck Music Records.

Offside recorded their killer songs "Hijau Kuning" and "Warrior". The compilation was a great step to introduce Offside and their music to oi! music lovers worldwide.

The band then lost drummer, Botak (Azim) who decided to leave the band to complete his studies. The band soon found a replacement , as Nazatt took up the drum sticks.

2003 was a very good year for OFFSIDE, for the first time the band were invited to perform at their hometown (Alor Star). They went down so well that they were invited back a second time later in the year to play again at Dewan Leong Say Thong, in Alor Star. At the end of the year vocalist Hiero decided to leave the band in order to start a new job.

Hiero was soon replaced by the current vocalist Ustad . Starting from that day the line up became:
Ustad on vocals,
Jan K.K on 1st guitar
Milah on 2nd guitar
Mat Kie on bass
Nazatt on drums
