Gramofocas

Profile:

Band from Brasília - D.F. Brazil.
Members: Bass and Vocals: Paulo Rocker, Guitar and Vocals: Pedro Silva, Drums: Victor Amigo Punk.

In 97, three school friends who liked punk rock decided to start a band. Gramofocas appeared without much pretension. Pedro (guitar), Paulo (bass) and Guth (drums), having Ramones as their main influence began to compose their own songs using simple melodies and mixing the 3 chords and the energy of punk rock with a little more Rockabilly and Country, which ended up being labeled Punkabilly. Moving away from political issues and protests, the Gramofocas' lyrics are between teenage love relationships and alcoholic beverages (mainly beer) generating a more uncompromising and fun sound, clearly felt in their presentations where there were covers of Ramones, Beach Boys, Misfits, Chuck Berry , Toy Dolls, Buddy Holly and Johnny Rivers as well as punk rock versions for Brazilian music classics, such as Cascavelletes, Leo Jaime, João Penca and Jovem Guarda in general.
They recorded a demo tape in 98 and started promoting it among friends. The band started to grow and take a more professional stance when Guth moved to Campinas to study. After several tests, Amigo Punk (nickname inspired by the classic of the great Graforréia Xilarmônica) took over the drums. In September / October 2000, already with the new formation super tight, they enter the studio once again. At the beginning of 2001, still with the tape to be released, they were hired by PROTONS, which combined the 6 new songs with the old demo and some bonuses and launched the sales success "Amor, Cerveja e Session da Tarde" which earned the band a lot of praise and shows such as Porão do Rock, Goiânia Noise, São Paulo (Hangar 110), among many more informal ones.
In 2002, after the demos were sold out, the band kept playing, going through the main events (including Festival PROTONS and Super Nights Senhor F) and concert halls in the city. With so many presentations, always very fun, they won more and more fans. It was time for the band to release their CD. In 2003, they avoided the stage to dedicate themselves completely to recording. Capturing the best of punk rock, rockabilly and country influences without forgetting the remarkable choruses sung in chorus that made the band stand out, the CD "Whenever I am happy I drink" was born in April 2004.
In 2008, "Gang Bang" launched a Split with Capotones.
