Orchestra

Profile:

American Big Band Orchestra, first started in 1935 by Russ Morgan (2).
When Russ passed away in 1969, his son Jack Morgan (2) took over as band leader.
They are still active.

Sidemen (past and present):
Russ Case, Will Bradley, Charlie Butterfield, Toots Mondello, Arthur Rollini, Paul Ricci, Joe Venuti, Claude Thornhill, Jimmy Lewis, Eddie Julian, Russ Black, Chauncey Morehouse, Mert Curtis, Paul Roberts, Al Jennings, Eddie Bush, Cappy Lewis, Walter Link, Jack and David Morgan.

Use "Music In The Russ Morgan Manner" was the name of a successful radio show hosted by Russ Morgan (2). While the Morgan band recorded for Brunswick, from 1936 to 1938, the labels used "Music In The Russ Morgan Manner" as the name of the orchestra. Later, when they switched to Decca, a shortened version of this name, "Music In The Morgan Manner," continued to appear on labels, but only as a tagline below the orchestra name Russ Morgan And His Orchestra.

Use Russ Morgan And His Orchestra as the PAN where the band is listed like this on the labels. Whenever it is credited instead as [Invalid Label] (the name of Morgan's successful radio show), as on Brunswick, Harmony (4), Silvertone, and British Decca, use this alias as the PAN. List the shortened "Music In The Morgan Manner", which appears in a smaller typeface on many U.S. Decca releases below the orchestra name, only as a tagline in the notes.
