Marek Jackowski

Profile:

Polish guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. He began his musical career in 1965, playing guitar in the band, Impulsy. From the late-1960s he worked with Anawa, but in 1972 his collaboration with them came to an end, and he, along with fellow Anawa member Jacek Ostaszewski, and Tomasz Hołuj, fully committed to the trio that they had formed some time earlier, Osjan. Jackowski, and Milo Kurtis, left this act in 1975 and formed Maanam, where he remained until 2008.

He had already released several solo offerings over his career, and on the demise of Maanam in 2008, he returned to recording as a solo artist. At the time of his death, he had just completed his third solo studio album, which was released posthumously in 2013, and went gold in 2014. He was originally married to the singer of Maanam, Kora (4), but after that relationship ended he re-married.
