American bluegrass mandolin player. Originally from Georgetown, Kentucky.
Shayne has the been one of the most in demand multi-instrumentalists in the last 30 plus years, having worked with some of the top acts in Bluegrass Music. Shayne started learning to play at the feet of his older brother Rick and his dad Roger. At the age of 16, Shayne took the stage as a part of his brother’s band Newground, playing guitar. Shayne has performed with a who’s who of Bluegrass, such as The Lost and Found, Don Rigsby and Midnight Call, American Drive, Southern Blend, The Charlie Sizemore Band, Dave Evans, Unlimited Tradition, Rarely Herd, David Peterson and 1946, and The Karl Shiflett and Big Country Show, as well as filling in with such notables as J.D. Crowe and The New South, Wildfire, and others. In 2003 Shayne was part of Country Super Stars Brooks and Dunn’s Neon Circus Tour.
