The Tjarnar Quartet in Iceland was a mixed singing quartet, composed of soprano Rósa Kristín Baldursdóttir and conductor of the group, Kristjana Arngrímsdóttir alto, tenor Hjörleifur Hjartarson and bassist Kristján E. Hjartarson. The quartet was founded in 1992 and worked until the year 2000 and performed most Icelandic songs without accompaniment (a cappella). The quartet got acquainted with the farm Tjörn in Svarfaðardalur, as its members were connected to the place, Kristján and Hjörleifur were raised there and Kristjana and their wives Rósa.

After the Tjarnar Quartet retired, its members have made a name for themselves in the music world. Rósa Kristín has stayed in Austria and i.a. operated the band Ensemble Úngút which has released CDs. Kristjana has pursued a solo career and released song CDs (What is love, In the mood, Tango, etc.). Kristján has been responsible for concerts with both Kristján and his own assistants. Hjörleifur has run the band Hundur í óskilum.
