He was raised in Horod, a small western Manitoba community just North of Elphinstone, and the Keeseekoowenin Reserve. Len (White Buffalo) was a well known artist and his paintings reflected on the "glorious days of his childhood" and all his work represented a "reflection of his soul." He was an auto mechanic and later a commercial sign artist working in Canada and the United States where his art ability landed him a job working with a major motion picture studio in Hollywood. Len enjoyed sketching, painting, soap stone sculpture, music, song writing and television production. He was best known as the host of "The Western Hour" which ran from 1977 to 1996. The name “White Buffalo” was given to Len by Chief George Pierre of the Acoma Nation of Washington State, in the city of Los Angeles, CA.
