Noor Shimaal

Noor Shimaal (translated: Northern Lights) may be the northernmost band specializing in the belly dance music of the Middle East. Founded by Terri Suha Massa, a teacher of beginning and intermediate Middle Eastern dance at the Mary Siah Recreation Center in Fairbanks, AK, Noor Shimaal has amassed a vast repertoire that includes traditional and non-traditional music from Nubia, West Algeria, Turkey, West Sudan, Maghreb, Azerbaijan, Tunisia, and Egypt.
