Ümit Eroğlu

Profile:

Turkish pianist, arranger, and conductor, born in Ankara (1947). An alumnus of the Ankara State Conservatoire, Eroğlu turned to light-entertainment music in the mid-1960s, forming a jazz group, the Jupiter Quintet, and joining Eyol Büyükburç's accompanying band. Worked in Scandinavia for some time in the 1970s. Later founded his own recording studio and worked as an arranger with Kayahan for many years. Represented his country internationally as a conductor in two Eurovision Song Contest finals, in Zagreb in 1990 with Kayahan and eight years later in Birmingham with Tüzmen.
