DJ Neil Lewis, SANCTUARY’s resident DJ has been working “the wheels of steel” in San Francisco for over 15 years. Getting his start in the business playing at house parties in San Francisco in the late 1980’s. From these beginnings he began playing at Castro neighborhood bars until he moved to Sydney, Australia to DJ for 3 months in 1990. Upon his return, Neil was discovered by club promoter Bill Camilo. In June of 1990 PLEASUREDOME was born. Neil had the privilege to work besides amazing talented DJ’s like Steven Keen, Alec Cunningham, Jerry Bonham and Phil B. He continued playing primarily in San Francisco until he teamed with promoter Jito Garcia. Together they created the first MAGNITUDE party in 1997 – a party that helped bring international attention to Neil’s musical style and the “San Francisco Sound”. Since that time, Neil’s career as a DJ has exploded across the US and abroad landing him in most of the significant circuit party weekends across the country (White Party Palm Springs, Black & Blue, Mardi Gras Sydney, Winter Party, Sugar Singapore, Oz New Orleans and Memorial Day Pensacola) fulfilling Alan Brown’s (of the Electric Dreams Foundation) prediction of his explosive popularity. Neil has a personal and professional manner and style that has earned him the respect of every promoter with which he works.
