Declan McLaughlin (2)

Declan was born in 1969 in Derry, Northern Ireland. He was the first-born son to Hugh and Christine McLaughlin and started playing in all kinds of bands after he left school. In 1989 he started playing solo and performed his own, mainly political materials with a certain amount of success.
Around 1990 he met Paddy Nash with whom he went on to form the rock band Screaming Binlids in 1992. The band was very popular in Derry and further afield and they played a lot of festivals not just in Ireland but the UK and the rest of Europe. In 1996 they decided to call it a day and returned to Derry.
In 1997 the Whole Tribe Sings was born.
Declan's not to be confused with another Derry artist/producer called Declan McLaughlin, a member of Hedrock Valley Beats.
