Jack Purvis

Profile:

American jazz trumpeter and trombonist, born December 11, 1906 in Kokomo, Indiana, died March 30, 1962 in San Francisco.
Purvis was the composer of "Dismal Dan" and "Down Georgia Way" and one of the first trumpeters to incorporate the innovations pioneered by Louis Armstrong in the late 1920s. He also played a number of other instruments professionally (including harp).
