Larry Jackson

Profile:

Atlanta saxophonist & instructor who had his education at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, TN. Larry joined in his early years 3 jazz bands, among one who performed with Bill Waltrous & Les Brown, and under the direction of Jerry Jones. In later years he performed on stage with Peabo Bryson, Kenny Loggins, Jennifer Holiday, Bill Watrous, Aretha Franklin, the late Ali Ollie Woodson (Temptations), Jean Carn, Marc Russo (YellowJackets), Pieces of a Dream, Spyro Gyra, Roy Hargrove, Ronnie Laws and Mary Wilson (Supremes). He recorded with Peabo Bryson, 38 Special, (Hamilton) Bohannon, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Arrested Development, Anne G, L.A. & Babyface, Luther Barnes, Miguel Romero, Anthony Lockett (Cameo), and Vance Taylor (Earth Wind & Fire). Larry also performed on various tv-series such as "In The Heat of the Night" and "I'll Fly Away", where he served as technical director to actor-singer Dorian Harewood. He worked as stage producer for the musicals "Bessie's Blues" and Mary Wilson's "Beehive", and appears as a nightclub-musician in Tyler Perry's "Media's Family Reunion".
