Argentine folk singer and guitarist.

Born in Buenos Aires (August 3, 1952) Nito Mestre showed an inclination towards folklore since he was young.
He also istened to classical music, played the flute and participated in choirs.
Time later Nito would acquire Please Please Me of The Beatles and he would decide to sing rock.

In high school he would form Sui Generis (4) together with Charly Garcia, Alberto Rodríguez, Carlos Lareu, Alejandro Correa (Later replaced with Hugo Alfredo Negri), Juan Bellia, Carlos Piegari. But later most of its members deserted, it would become a duo with Charly.
The group would release five LPs during the 70s, acquiring nationwide popularity thanks to Charly's melodies and Nito's vocals.
In 1975 the group disbanded and Mestre formed Nito Mestre Y Los Desconocidos De Siempre, along with Maria Rosa Yorio and others.
Their first album was successful but they would lose popularity in later releases, because of the creative stagnation.
With three LPs release, they disbanded in 1980.

In 1984 he would tour with Juan Carlos Baglietto, Celeste Carballo and Oveja Negra, and release the live album Porque Cantamos in 1985.
He would release Nito the next year, then moved to Chile where he would collaborate with Eduardo Gatti on his album Entrada de Locos.
