Real Name:
Phil Jones, Sean Martin & Rob Clinton
Profile:
Pariah were spawned from the dark years of the mid 90's. The Pariah studio was set up in 1997, after much saving and hard work. They spent the next 12 months getting to know their equipment, enabling them to carve their own sound. The next thing Pariah did was to expand further and start sending out their music. Later on they found themselves working with the master himself, 'LTJ Bukem', which still continues today. Pariah were offered a major deal with 'Good Looking' but after much deliberation, decided to turn it down. The reason for this was that the boys thought that they could not justify the offer of such a deal due to the amount of work involved. The Pariah boys still all work full time which does'nt really leave a lot of time for them to be Dj'ing all over the world and also working on their music at the same time! They also wanted to be able explore different avenues within such a varied genre of music, luckily for them though, they are still producing music for 'Bukem' and his label and hope that it will continue, who knows, maybe they will sign one day if the offer is still there in the future!

Reviews & Discussion

I love the stuff of these guys.
Although most of their tunes might seem a bit minimal at first, their skill is to construct true emotional sound surroundings in a very recognizable manner, temperate, avoiding easy sound fx, often resulting in valuable melodies and motifs, shining progressively through numerous patterns and loops gathering like a musical puzzle. My impression is that these three men think big and feel even greater.
They are, in my opinion, the originators of a new style within the intelligent d'n'b scene.
Among their releases, these are favorites :
"AQUEOUS", the moving "CONFESSIONS" and "SENSORY OVERLOAD", "MINDCHECK", the mighty "THE ARRIVAL"(their more dancefloor burner I feel),"SKYLINE", "PRIMARY EVOLUTION" and "ANGEL FALLS".
Respect.
