Ryan Babel

Dutch international footballer of Surinamese decent, born December 19, 1986 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Raised in Bijlmermeer in South-East Amsterdam, Babel began his professional football career with AFC Ajax, Liverpool, 1899 Hoffenheim, Kasımpaşa SK, Al Ain FC, Deportivo de La Coruña, Beşiktaş, Fulham, and Galatasaray. He was also a member of the Dutch national team that finished as runner-up to Spain in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Also known as 'Rio', Ryan has recorded several hip-hop songs as a rapper, having worked with the likes of Ali B and U-Niq, amongst many others.
