Welsh psychedelicists, White Noise Sound, began conjuring their own particular wall of sound - at once relentlessly pulsating and blissed-out – in 2006.

Having featured on a series of white-label demos and having honed their craft across the UK and Europe in a growing psychedelic scene, WNS were introduced to magician Cian Ciaran (Super Furry Animals) by Pixy Jones of fellow Welsh psych wizards, El Goodo, in 2009. The bar was immediately raised. With the assistance of the luminary Pete Kember (Spacemen 3 / Spectrum / E.A.R) and with Cian at the mixing desk, the band completed their debut album a year later.

Released globally by California-based, Alive Records (whose back-catalogue includes releases from The Black Keys and Iggy Pop), and considered, by some, a psychedelic dream-piece, the eponymous debut was received with widespread critical acclaim as WNS toured through the UK and Europe in its support - sharing the stage with Super Furry Animals, The Warlocks, Spectrum, Mark Gardener (Ride), Daniel Avery and members of Spacemen 3, Spiritualized and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

In 2011, Huw Williams of Welsh indie-popsters, The Pooh Sticks, introduced the band to Belfast producer and techno DJ Phil Kieran. The result was a Beatport chart-topping single in 2012 - with remixes by the likes of Maya Jane Coles - and a live show at the MTV European Music Awards fringe festival in Belfast.

2014 saw WNS collaborate with indie-rocker countrymen/women, The Joy Formidable, on their limited run of double A-side Aruthrol singles. The release preceded the band’s return proper in 2015 with their second album ‘Like a Pyramid of Fire’.

Released on the cult Rocket Girl Records, ‘Like a Pyramid of Fire’ saw the band evolve their trademark wall of sound, working closely with Phil Kieran and again with Cian Ciaran. The result was a metronomic and hypnotic mix of melody, groove and exploration.

'Like a Pyramid of Fire' hit the airwaves, championed by the likes of Andrew Weatherall, along with Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq, Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson at BBC Radio, while the band toured, joining The Jesus And Mary Chain, Andrew Weatherall and Phil Hartnoll of Orbital on stage, before taking their place in the annals of neo-psychedelia.
