Number Nine Multimedia Lab. (a.k.a. N9) is a small multimedia label based in France. It was originally intended as an outfit for the music releases of the eponymous French Techno-house band Number Nine. After a bunch of tracks in the early days of Techno & Rave explosion, N9 focused in the 90’ on graphic design (including several record sleeve designs), on conceptual Typography, creating commercial, free or shareware fonts, and heralding community project around Typography on the then-emerging Internet culture, with Point Central (1996) and Typeindex.org (1999).

N9 went back in the music area in 2005, and started releasing new tracks in the Electro-Techno or Electronica styles, as much as pioneering the revival of the Acid New Beat genre under the French Theory alias. Now 30 years-old, the label is still there and true to its underground mission : "In order of Chaos".
N9 is based in Paris, France, and headed by Guillaume-Ulrich Chifflot, who is also a multi-awarded creative director in Advertising.
