This particular release deserves some detailed listening. It skirts just being "acid" by its uniqueness and the fact that it was out there first. Track number one kind of says it all - "We're the creators of acid music...". Of course, I tend to really go for the "innovative" or "pioneering" stuff, and this was among the first of the blitzkrieg wave of acid that was to follow a couple of years after this release. However, it wasn't the very first acid music to appear - Chicago and Detroit house were squelching out acid long before this release and Berlin was also tweeking happily on 303s before this came out, but as a stand-alone "style", this record was among the first to be known as "acid" or (as I called it) "hard acid". However factual you may find that to be, and despite that, this record tops the immense heap of acid releases that flooded the market from mid-'94 to '96 before (thankfully) drum-n-bass took over, but that's a whole other review unto itself. A great honor to behold for me, I recommend going out of your way to find this record. It's worth getting.
