Sounds great, very cheap good sounding pressing of a legendary recordreferencing We Get Requests (LP, Album) MIJ-1-5321
First song 'Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars (Corcovado)' is rather lo-fi but the rest sound STUNNING in stereo. And I do mean stunning. Great recording & mix of a dynamite set of performances. Vinyl is whisper-quiet as well...- Edited 2 months agoQuite expensive, but totally worth it. The sound is remarkable - as deep as it can be and well balanced. Sonics are super detailed and clean, contrabass is right here. Totally beats the Qobuz version (or I have to upgrade my digital setup :) )
Thick gatefold cardboard, safe antistatic inner sleeve. Absolutely silent surface. The spindle hole is a little bit small. referencing We Get Requests (CD, Album, Silver CD) 810 047-2
Second pressing. The original black W. German label version brings higher prices, but I assume there is no difference in sound. This one sounds brilliant. Bass is hard right, piano in centre and drums hard left.- Edited 2 months agoThe 2018 remaster did not recreate the 3ch mix layer found on pre-remaster releases.
This is clearly indicated in red on the back of the obi: this is a disc with 2ch sound source only. Multi-ch (surround) is not included.
But the instrument separation (drums left, piano center slightly left and bass right) is great and it almost sounds like a dedicated channel. referencing We Get Requests (2×Reel-To-Reel, 15 ips, ¼", 2-Track Stereo, 10.5" NAB Reel, Album, Reissue) RRAP 0025
I'm only 3 songs in and I'm drooling. I don't even have my EQ set to CCIR/IEC1 yet--just playing back on an NAB eq'd deck. It's that good. Worth every penny.referencing We Get Requests (LP, Album, Mono) V-8606
Classic piano jazz album. Standout tracks include "My One and Only Love", "Have You Met Miss Jones?", "D. & E.", and "Goodbye J.D." This is the original mono pressing, impressive warmth and clarity, organic and deep in the low end, and spacious all around. Really nice sounding record. My copy has some surface wear, a couple of skips on each side, but sounds pretty good for the vast majority of the time.referencing We Get Requests (LP, Album, Mono) V-8606
Oscar is smooth as glass, he effortlessly plays impossibly speedy runs while the band remains in the pocket at all times. Beautiful though and though . This is an audiophile record.- PALLAS, Germany pressed some incredible sounding records in the '90s, and THIS IS ONE OF THEM !
If you get your hands on this RUN, don't walk, home to play it. referencing We Get Requests (2×Reel-To-Reel, 15 ips, ¼", 2-Track Stereo, 10.5" NAB Reel, Album, Reissue) RRAP 0025
This tape blows all other formats by very far including the 45RPM vinyl. It is just incredible how wide are dynamics and how raw and pure is the sound. It is also the first version i have heard that does not suffer from a low gain.
You may have already 45rpm or SACD (I do and i love them) and yet, getting this tape would not be a duplicate, it sounds different enough and better enough not to be a duplicate.
