I realized the commercial "Pump up the jam" 1989 (Technotronic) hip house hit, emanates or is just a copy of this, do you?

Also some of the lyrics at the time were a little bit like your dad gettin into house i.e. not knowing the music and the boundaries of what is cool to say and what is not. Does that sense. Or to clarify.

"I'll House" phrase was a bit errr well not cool.

Listen to it now there's some absolute mint phrases in the acapella n stuff.

But at the time this heaped in with Betty Boo and S'Express.

Samples "Oh yeah" from Choice MC's - Beat Of The Street / Gordy's Groove.

I remember when this came out I was both sides of the fence like many club music lovers I loved hip hop 1980 when I first heard hip hop. And I've loved hip hop since. Pretty much tuned out around 1996, but anyway. I also loved house and my recollection was both camps - house and hip hop looking at this track and thinking this is the Jungle Brothers cashing in. Don't get me wrong, I love it. It kicks asss. But yeah that was my feeling on it.
Don't get up in my grill about it please it's just perception on things.

C'mon! It's not a rip off, frankie bones? Tod terry? Now they took!. . . The list is endless. . . The J.Bs had the balls to put this on their first album. No other hip hop/rap artist ever did at this stage. Just bought two copies of David Mathews theme from Star Wars (break) on 45. . . Your welcome to come to a gig and I'll chuck "I'll house you" in after these and I guarantee u will like it. We'll have you jackin in no time. ;)

The Hitmen Remix is excellent, well produced and well pressed. In my view it's the go-to version of the track.

I can't really tell if they meant that serious or if this was a parody of the house scene then.
Basically it's just a rip-off of "Can you Party" with some awfully rediculous lyrics.

This record should come with a government health warning: "Please do not play in the mist or ardent househeads; likely to cause over excitement!" Classic of all house classics; still goes down a storm!
