- The ruffest DJ album ever to come outta Kingston. "Seminal", "exceptional" & "epic" are just a few fitting words.

The vocal version of Summer Time is by Domino Johnson (Green Door – GD-4045) released in the UK in 1972. The original version of Tapper Zukie - Man A Warrior album (Count Shelley) to my knowledge was released the same year 1972. - apart from the bonus tracks this is not a reissue of the original Count Shelly-album as it misses the tracks collected there that were not done by Zukie, the original album just collected 9 Zukie tunes plus 3 from other artists

two tracks less compared to Tapper Zukie - Man Ah Warrior but to me it's the better choice cause the tracks are in the ruff vein of this seminal albumreferencing Man Ah Warrior (LP, Album) CSLP 04
Musically, I just love this album. Tapper Zukie's singing/chanting/whatever it is is off-kilter and beautiful. I used to own the Lenny Kaye/Patti Smith reissued LP. However, the sound is full of mud. My understanding from earlier comments here, though, is that the poor sound seems to be present in the original recordings, and that there is no release that has what I could consider good sound. If so, that's disappointing. If I'm wrong, and there is a version with cleaner sound, I would be interested in knowing about it!referencing Man Ah Warrior (LP, Album) CSLP 04
Looking for a cover of this. If anyone is willing to sell a poor copy of this please contact me !- Edited 6 years agoThis first re-issue of Tapper Zukie - Man Ah Warrior added "Viego" and "A Message To Pork Eaters" while omitted three non-Zukie-related titles from the 1973 UK release: "Summertime", "Soul And Inspiration" and "You Know I Love You".

Factually this is a straight re-issue of Tapper Zukie - Man Ah Warrior from 1977. The 1973 original LP on Count Shelly didn't contain "Viego" and "A Message To Pork Eaters" but three tracks un-related to Tappa Zukie (one instrumental, two male vocals pieces).
