I always liked that crew, beginning with their fantastic "Creepin on ah Come Up" EP, but after the death of mastermind Eazy-E they fell off my plate. This double LP came across my radar recently and I snatched it for a reasonable price. It also offers their typical 90s sound, I was a bit confused and had to snicker when I heard them jam over BDP´s "Love Gonna Get´cha", but then they find their streak quickly, "Look Into My Eyes", "Ready For War", "Thug Luv" featuring 2Pac, here´s lots of qualty and atmospheric swag on display and I´m glad to finally put this into my vaults. Even if the pressing is a bit quiet and lacks of punch, due to the running time of over two hours (!) and amount of material. As far as I remember it´s the same problem with "E. 1999 Eternal". But it still sounds clear and dynamic, so all is good. Yo, this was the time when the artists put love and affection into their work and delivered lots of content for the dough. These dudes really had something to say. Today, some double longplayers run about 40 minutes and you pay double prices. Times change. - Edited 7 months agoNote that the song ‘Whom Die They Lie’ is not featured on the disc 2 on this promotional CD.

The sound quality of this record has blown me away! So much better than the CD version. Not too quiet either, which is something Bone's older releases suffered from.referencing The Art Of War (2×LP, Album) REL 488080 1
any info on the quality? 10 words yea yea yeareferencing The Art Of War (2×LP, Album) 88561-6340-1
Ready 4 War and 7 Sign have the incorrect writer Cedric Feaster Jr. is Majesty. Please update to the correct info reflected in wiki.- Edited 2 years agoOne of the most rare hard to find Bone cd's out in the collecting community. This version of The Art of War is a German advanced promo, that includes 2 differences from the retail version. Track 12 on disc 1, "If I Could Teach The World" has the original hook which sampled a 1971 Coca-Cola commercial titled "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing (In Perfect Harmony)". It was changed for the retail version due to the sample not being cleared. The second difference is on track 2 on disc 2, "Thug Luv". The version has a extended verse from Wish Bone, which was never released.

Times are off on the album tracks, for example Retaliation (Intro) "2:20" closer to "1:30"-- top vinyl was cut in corner for what its worth. Sound is fine for those looking to go to DSD. I had to raise the db level on my Korg 100r ADC to a crazy 13+db, still, while recording clipping still isn't occurring. Example is a Eminem Vinyl "the marshal matthers lp" set to 2.5+db during recording. Anyway if you want hifi dsd/dsf/dff this isn't terrible and will sound much better than compressed or even cd. I plan on reviewing all Hip Hop/Rap albums purchased for DSD purposes. In summary one of the cleanest hiss/pop free recordings that's dated.... Bizzy Bone Heavenz Movie promo lp for example has tons of low level audible noise similar release dates. Hope this helps Bone Fans!!!
