Notes
From Twin/Tone site:
"This 'mini-LP' was released on June 24, 1982. The first three pressings (2,000 + 1,500 + 1,500) used hand stamped white jackets. Each pressing had unique markings and were easily told apart. (First was black, the second was red, the third was done in black with a fake bar code made from a cut out 'potato stamp') For the fourth and future pressings we went to pre-printed jackets. The final pressing in the late eighties (to run out the jackets) of approx 1,000 were pressed on colored vinyl."
From Rob Nordin, Twin City Imports of St Paul,MN, Twin Tone's distributor at the time:
"TCI received our first 200 for distribution to our record shop customers throughout the Midwest with a plain white jacket and without the rubber stamping/labeling yet on them. Somehow, we ended up with the rubber stamp, ink pad, etc. (delivered by Twin Tone person/Jesperson? Picked up from Twin Tone by Grady Linehan?) and each jacket needed to be stamped as orders were filled. An unnamed TCI colleague was not a fan of the band (to say the least) and with each order they needed to fill that included the EP, they went wild with the rubber stamp. I've seen copies on e-Bay where these wild mutilple, overkill stamped versions are being offered and the "handiwork" is ascribed to the band. That could also be but I know many were "created" by a nameless TCI colleague."

- All the identifiers on my copy indicate that it must be this 1986 pressing, but the label says 33 1/3rpm. Anyone know anything about a 33 1/3rpm version?
- Lovely compromise to avoid spending hundreds on a hand stamped original run, and listening to the shitty sounding rhino
- I have a copy with the printed cover and the same label as this version but the runout on side A does not have S-16317 and side B does not have S-16318. Is this a different variant?
- My version is brand new. Has red stamp on front and back. No Twin Tone stamp on back. Also, not numbered.
- I’ve got a copy with the printed cover and the same label as this version. But the runout has S-16318 in addition to what is listed above. Is that this version and the OP missed that? Or should I add it as a new version?
- I have a version with Blue (multiple) stamps of this. It also has handwritten numbering (mine's 372/375) Any info on that?

My copy of this record has a blue (silkscreened) "stamp"...- Edited 6 years agoI've now done extensive research, and can't find any evidence that the 'fake barcode' third pressing exists. No one I have talked to can claim to having seen one. I have seen various markings on back covers, a circle, a few lines, etc. Are all, some, or none of these supposed to be third presses? None of the markings I have seen look much like a barcode, and in all cases I've seen claims that similiar copies are first pressings. Moreover, I have read that the stink logo itself was produced using a 'potato stamp', so if this is so then that a potato stamp was used would not serve to distinguish the pressings. Are there different etchings on the vinyl to distinguish the pressings? Did the Mats have a seperate stamping party for each new press? I have only read of a single session- but this would suggest that there was only a single run of stamped copies. Does anyone know who, exactly, that quote is from, about the three pressings? I am beginning to doubt its veracity. Maybe that claim about pressings being 'easy to distinguish' is just westerberg humor.
