Hi,
I am pleasantly surprised with this tape. When I listened to it, I did not imagine a truly excellent audio quality with frequencies that even went well beyond the average of the tapes on the market. Probably being a maxi cassingle it was considered a niche product intended for professional studios or commercial radio. Surely it was not a promo that usually the quality is not that optimal as far as I'm concerned. The spectrum goes beyond 20khz and as can be seen from the characteristics of the tape, it is a recording made with a criterion of the time with a tiber of 1983 origin in which the tape dates back. This is due to the very simple type of recording recorded with Dolby anti-noise systems (large stereophonic spatiality that can be noticed by listening very easily). The voice and hisses are perfectly calibrated so as not to bother while listening, also thanks to a highly respectable cassette player (tape deck) with quartz drive. I have to be honest with myself, I was amazed by the perfect sound quality comparable to the corresponding vinyl and probably even superior in the sense of definition. Obviously the 12inch. it goes well beyond the indicated frequencies, however it will be very difficult to distinguish the differentiation of the source of the contained sound. Also thanks to the excellent conservation, as if the tape was just fresh off the press. It's incredible. It is probably the best recording I've heard on a maxi single tape of the time; the various recording formats HX-Pro and similar hardly reach a range of this type ... it being understood that they are of excellent listening quality, but hardly manage to reach frequency peaks that go beyond 20Hz. Until recently I considered the following rare cassingle (corresponding to the 12 Inch mix cataloged Regular Records X 14252) of Australian origin originally printed by Regular Record to be the top: ICEHOUSE - NO PROMISES. Excellent quality recording but actually lower than the latter. Let me clarify immediately: I am not a sound engineer, I limit myself to describing what I have perceived with my ears for over 30 years for pure personal passion. So nothing definite and empirical.
No filter and equalizer I used to get a crystal clear sound and the dynamics are excellent, no intervention is needed, the tape already has these properties for this reason I highly recommend it for those who like the genre. referencing Electric Boogie (12", 33 ⅓ RPM) MLPS 7832
im gonna let u in on a little secret. the super electric dub on this version is a dangerous weapon. mastered and programmed like an absolute dream, it builds infectious rhymths that i have seen drive ppl wild when pitched up around 7% to 115bpm.
youre welcome :)
