Now after the release of the fantastic “Tandoori Tentacle EP” the second album of “Badun” called “Last Night Sleep” is out now.
All I can say is I am speechless – Badun put it over the top.
Badun is grown up – and please don’t get me wrong, they always been high-class serious musicians – but with “Last Night Sleep” they put their music to another stage.
“Last Night Sleep” is a dreamy album with crystal clear structures at the same time. Flavoured with Indian instruments the merged click and cut with jazzy electronica. Sounds like a strange brew, but don’t be misled; Badun found a new sound and defined them new. A laid-back sound that disperses wonderful soundclouds meets rich and genius arranged jazz electronica. But when I write these words I ask myself if jazz electronica is the right description. When I say jazz I mean the structures of the orchestration and the way the created tricky beat-structures. The atmosphere of this album is a deep journey into a new sound and a soulful atmosphere.
The music of “Last Night Sleep” is like remembering a dream you had last night; you remember some structures something is hidden behind the curtain of the deep and dark night. But even the dream was a fiery one you have a smile on your face.
This is the way it happens a million times each night on earth, simple to describe not easily to understand. And this is the way this extraordinary music functions. You search for a name to describe what you hear – but you can’t find a name – but one thing is clear to you’ve been fallen in love with a dream you had last night.
      Perfect ten!
